I entered to win a Titan from FW this morning. Here is my entry if you care to read it.
Missiles streaked overhead and Sergeant Korse felt his hearts thrumming in time. "SQUAD! On me!", he bellowed into his vox. Three Astartes trudged through the smoke smothering the courtyard.
"Sergeant, we are only four." It was Legionary Drezt. His armor scorched, the insignia of the Imperial Fists, barely visible. "I am glad to have any." responded Korse. The four squad mates huddled together.
"Franz, Tremen, Drezt; we have a tall task." said Korse. "The Iron Warriors have amassed at Saturnine Gate. We will repel them from the Emperor's Palace or we will die."
"FOR DORN!" they yelled as they disassembled.
Bolters rained as the Fists mantled a crumbling wall. Dozens of Iron Warriors unleashed their weapons on their fellow Astartes. The golden warriors clamored to cover behind the smoking husk of a Rhino.
Tremen quickly peeked over the wreck and then turned to his brothers. "Their Battlesmith has placed charges, Brothers. They intend to breach the wall!"
Korse rallied his men. "We go now. Give flanking fire from the right while I circle them. For Terra, Brothers."
The Imperial Fists burst forth, their precise bolter fire finding targets. Tremen's bolter exploded as a lascannon sliced through it and bisected him. Drezt and Franz wailed at the Olympians.
Korse crossed the courtyard with impossible speed. He unsheathed his sword as he ran, flanking the traitors. The feint worked. Korse swung his sword and two Iron Warriors died. He raised his bolter, killing three more.
A krak missile impacted Drezt and Franz, a red mist where they stood.
Korse ran, the Iron Warriors unable to fire at him in close quarters. He cut them down, one after another. He charged the Battlesmith.
The Iron Warrior laughed, firing a plasma pistol at the Sergeant. Korse's sword clattered to the ground, his right arm gone. Still Korse ran, barreling into the Battlesmith. The Iron Warrior turned, grabbing Korse's neck. He spun and slammed Korse against the gate. Korse was pinned, his battle nearly ended. It was then he saw it.
A God Engine. A Titan! It loomed over the traitors and when they fired, it seemed to smile at the futility. The sun shone brilliantly, a halo around the Titan's massive shoulders. "Sunbreaker" whispered Korse. It's Volcano Cannon burned to life. The Iron Warriors burned to death.
Korse lay dying, a smile on his lips as the Sunbreaker, his vengeance, strode away.
